Usher-Shipway becomes third signing of the summer for the Moors

NEW Solihull Moors signing Ben Usher-Shipway says he can’t wait for the 2019/20 National League season to get underway, after joining on a one-year deal.

The 20-year old arrives from Boldmere St. Michaels, where he came through the club’s youth ranks, making his debut back for the Mikes back in 2015.

Usher-Shipway, who can play on the wing, will have the option of extending his contract for a further year with the Moors, should he make the desired impact in Tim Flowers’ first team.

He made 42 appearances in all for Boldmere in the 2018/19 campaign, scoring 11 goals and catching the eye of Moors’ scouts with his ability to produce a good final ball.

The new Moors man admits the project that is ongoing at the club was too tempting to turn down.

“I’m absolutely delighted to sign for the club, I couldn’t think of a better club to join,” he said.

“The success the club have had over recent years and the direction they are going in has attracted me.

“You only hear good things about the club and the people here.

“I will work hard in pre-season, get my head down and work hard to establish myself in the first team. Hopefully I can contribute to more success for the club going forward – I’m really excited by the challenge.

“I can’t wait to get started and meet up with the lads.”
