DORRIDGE Cricket Club’s junior section celebrated a highly successful season with their annual awards presentation taking place earlier this month.

Warwickshire star Laurie Evans was on hand to present the awards alongside Dorridge captain David Ball.

The highlight of the evening was the Outstanding Achievement award which was given to Oscar Henrick for his remarkable bowling figures of 9 for 1 in an under 13 game this season. This achievement attracted national media interest and was featured in Cricketer magazine.

Paul Rastrick, who has taken over the role of Head of Junior Cricket at Dorridge, said: “We are looking to take the junior cricket section forwards next season with the ultimate goal of providing our senior teams with local young cricketers. We believe we have the structure in place to achieve this.”

Dorridge have 150 children aged from 5 to 16 years old who attend their highly popular and successful coaching session on a Friday evening during the summer. The players will head into the winter nets series with their training partner Complete Cricket Coaching

Those interested in joining the club should contact Paul Rastrick [email protected] or on 07876 144595.
