SWIMMING: DOZENS of swimmers made the trip to Sheffield to compete at the Iconic Ponds Forge 50m pool as part of Sheffield Swimming Club’s annual open meet.

With ages ranging from nine to 18, club captains Abi Delaney and Ben Davies guided the youngsters through was what for some their first time swimming in a 50m pool.

The team recorded hundreds of PBs and scored points from the first race.

Points were achieved in every event, meaning swimmers were placed in the top six in all races.

Solihull secured the win with 261 points, holding off a fierce challenge from City of Bradford Swimming Club, who had been leading at the end of the first session.

Success made the 5.30am start worth it as 72 individual trophies returned home.
