Solihull Swimmers finish third in Cheslyn

SOLIHULL Swimming Club’s Mercian League Team travelled to Cheslyn Hay for the second round of the Summer League and came away with a fourth-place finish.

After being drawn against some well established teams including Coventry and Boldmere, Solihull knew they had to produce their best.

And the team, who were all aged between ten and 21, produced a series of outstanding swims to claim fourth behind Coventry, Northgate and Orion.

All swimmers made every point count but there were outstanding swims from Laila Elfandi, who won the 10-year backstroke, Deen Ahmed, who won the 12-year Freestyle and Ethan Robinson-Bule who won the 14-year Breastroke. Chris Mitchell also came first in the 14-year butterfly.




There were runner-up spots for Laila Elfandi (10-year butterfly), Hattie Pearce (10-year freestyle), Elizabeth Aston (12-year breastroke) James Lee (12-year backstroke) and Luke Greenhill (12-year butterfly).

The relay teams also performed well, with the boys 14-year category of James Lee, Ethan Robinson Bule, Chris Mitchell and Abdur Rahim winning both the Freestyle and Medley events.


While there were also third-place finishes for the 10-year old girls, 10-year boys and 13-year girls.
