Solihull Moors to play Birmingham City and Mansfield

Solihull Editorial 14th May, 2015 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

MOORS have confirmed this week they will play two pre-season friendly matches against Football League sides Mansfield Town and Birmingham City this coming July.

Mansfield finished 21st in League Two last Season and have ex-Moors manager Mickie Moore on their coaching staff.

The Stags will travel to the Autotech Stadium on July 18 with kick-off taking place at 1.30, and it will be their second visit to Solihull with the two sides playing out a 1-1 draw last time around.

Championship side Birmingham City are also heading to Moors for a pre-season fixture on July 28 (kick-off 7.30pm). The game will form part of the development squad’s preparations for the 2015-16 campaign.

Blues and Moors have recently entered into an academy grassroots agreement which will bring the two sides closer together.

Moors currently have almost 30 junior and girls teams within its youth development section and aligning themselves with Blues will enable any of its aspiring players to have a pathway through to an even higher level of coaching.

It will also enable players who perhaps are not ready to sign for the Birmingham City Academy to trial at Solihull throughout its junior structure.

Tickets for both matches are available on the turnstile priced at £5 for adults and £2 for under-16s.

Further details of Moors’ other pre-season friendlies will be revaled in the coming weeks.
