In the ladies section, Olton’s second team were on duty at Grange Road where both Holly Percival and Holly Smith bagged a brace in a comfortable 7-1 win.

There was not such good news for the third team who lost by a single goal to Edgbaston, but the fourth string team beat Blossomfield 7-0 and the fourth team beat Sutton Coldfield 2-1.

On Sunday, the Ladies’ first team entertained Trojans from Southampton in the Investec Conference West.

It proved to be a tight and hard fought match against two evenly matches sides but goals from Mandy Gatherer and Sally Walton secured Olton a narrow 2-1 win to keep them in third place.

The first team are next in action when they host Gloucester City at Grange Road on Saturday.
