SOLIHULL Barons responded to a first defeat of the season by thrashing Blackburn Hawks 10-2 on Sunday night.
Solway Sharks inflicted a first blow to Solihull on Saturday night. Despite being pegged back three times by Phil Mulcahy, Daniel Harrison and Niklas Ottosson levellers, Sharks won 4-3.
As a result, Solihull headed to Blackburn desperate to return to winning ways, getting off to the best possible when Matt Maurice struck five minutes in, with Callum Bowley and Tom Soar adding to the lead.
Bowley and Soar found the net again in a goal-laden second period, with Rich Slater and Maurice also netting.
While the hosts pulled two goals back, two more from Soar and one from Ottosson put the seal on a convincing win.
