FOOTBALL: MOORS boss Liam McDonald has revealed the club beat of stiff competition to sign exciting forward Pearson Mwanyongo.

The 24-year-old joins Moors from Gresley where he has proven to be a prolific goalscorer from wide midfield since joining in the summer.

Mwanyongo will wear squad number 18 for the Moors and comes straight into contention for the New Year’s Day trip to Chester.

The signing of Mwanyongo comes as a real coup for Solihull because, as McDonald explains, he was attracting plenty of interest elsewhere.

“Pearson has recently been on a week’s trial at Grimsby Town and impressed,” said McDonald.

“He was due to go back to them but following a chat with us, he’s decided to sign a contract at Solihull. We’re absolutely delighted as he was attracting attention from plenty of league and non-league clubs.

“He’s quick and skilful with loads of ability and he’ll be a massive asset for us.”
