BIRMINGHAM City Ladies goalkeeper Becky Spencer has left the club to join WSL1 champions Chelsea Ladies.
Blues accepted an undisclosed offer for the 24-year-old, who during the Christmas break was in talks with the Staines-based club, who also won the FA Women’s Cup in 2015.
Spencer is the second player to make the journey from Blues to Chelsea in recent weeks following England midfielder Karen Carney’s move south.
The transfer paves the way for emerging teenage talent Sophie Baggaley to cement the number one spot at Blues Ladies following the string of impressive performances she produced whilst deputising for the injured Spencer in the second half of the 2015 campaign.
Everybody associated with Birmingham City Ladies FC wishes Spencer all the very best in the next chapter in her career.
