INDOOR ROWERS from Solihull claimed gold, silver and bronze at the English Indoor Rowing Championships held in Manchester during the last weekend of January.

In total, 11 medals were won as the team put their best foot forward with displays of courage and personal bests throughout the afternoon.

Not one medal ceremony passed without a Sillhillian stepping onto the podium – a remarkable achievement.

Supported by borough based fitness provider – Seal Personal Training – the rowers made the 5am wake up call worthwhile following months of training and work in the gym.

Based at Tudor Grand Leisure Centre in Solihull, Seal Personal Training guided the rowers to success by helping them through various fitness and strength conditioning workouts.

Coach Ali Seal told The Observer that he was incredibly proud of his team’s achievements and hopes the medal haul can help inspire more residents of Solihull to take up what is quickly becoming an established sport.

He said: “It was a fantastic effort from the guys, everyone has worked very hard to get to this stage but we’ve also had great fun at the same time.

“It’s an unusual sport but it’s one that’s gathering momentum and everyone at the club has built some great friendships.”
