FOOTBALL: HIGHGATE bounced back from back-to-back defeats over the festive period by kick-starting the new year with a comprehensive 4-0 victory away at Boldmere St Michaels.
The home side had no answer to Highgate’s rampant attacking display on Monday with Orrin Pendley, Arron Brown, Trevor Edwards and substitute Marco Adaggio all getting their names on the scoresheet.
The final scoreline could well have been doubled but Ashley Pulisciano’s side had to be content with just the two goals in each half.
Full back Pendley scored his first goal for the club with an angled 25th minute drive off Josh Hawker’s flag kick before Brown increased the advantage direct from a 38th minute free kick awarded for a foul on new signing Chris Johnson.
It continued to be one way traffic towards the home goal in the second half with Trevor Edwards hitting the perfect 54th minute strike to beat goalkeeper Sean Butler.
Hawker then turned provider for the second time by setting up Adaggio for a clinical finish fired past the custodian with just three minutes remaining.
Next up for Highgate is a home clash against Coventry United.
