FOOTBALL - Knowle travel to Coton Green in crunch league clash

Solihull Editorial 5th Nov, 2021   0

KNOWLE FC make the tough trip to Coton Green this weekend as the Solihull club try to keep pace with the leading pack in the Division Two of the Midland Football League.

The Robins were held to a 1-1 draw by Kenilworth Sporting last weekend which them lose top spot to title rivals Cadbury Athletic.

It means Knowle are one point behind Cadbury after 12 matches – with just two points separating the league’s top four sides.

And the Solihull club are taking on fourth-place Coton Green on Saturday afternoon – who have lost just twice in the current campaign.

One of those defeats came at home to Alcester Town a fortnight ago which will give Knowle hope that they can return to winning ways after their draw last time out.

Knowle boss Clive Seeley said: “I’m looking forward to playing against a number of ex-Knowle players. I’m expecting a competitive and closely fought match.”

The game marks a series of away fixtures for Knowle – who will play their next five matches on the road – including a mouth-watering trip to Cadbury at the end of the month.

Knowle are unbeaten in eight league matches since they also succumbed to Alcester in a 1-0 home defeat.

Entrance is £4 Adults, £2 Concessions (16-18 / Over 65), U16 Free

Knowle’s clash with Coton Green takes place on Saturday, November 6 with kick-off at 3pm at New Mill Lane in Tamworth.
