DEMI Rolph’s injury time goal secured a dramatic 3-2 win for Knowle Ladies in FA Cup Second Round Qualifying at the expense of Coundon Court.
Rolph won the game at the death having doubled Knowle’s lead in the first half after Emma Shaw had opened the scoring following a determined comeback from Coundon.
Knowle started the game on the front foot as Rolph’s dipping effort was tipped over the crossbar before Bex Clarke fired narrowly wide from the edge of the penalty area.
And the home side deservedly took the lead on 15 minutes when Shaw’s free-kick evaded everybody and swung into the far corner.
Knowle doubled their lead when Rolph curled a stunning effort over the goalkeeper, after beating the full-back, and was denied a second by the crossbar.
The hosts should have been out of sight as the visiting goalkeeper made a number of crucial saves before Coundon struck with their first shot on target through Alex Shilton who found the top corner from 20-yards out.
And Knowle were wasteful again in the second period as Natalie Gibson fired over before Rolph was denied by the keeper following a counter attack.
Coundon equalised with five minutes left to play when Sophie Shale planted a free header into the net after Knowle failed to deal with a corner.
With the game heading to penalties, Rolph was sent through on goal by Gibson, three minutes into time added on, before rounding the keeper and smashing into the empty net to spark wild scenes of celebration.
However, the visitors still had time to create one final chance only to hit the crossbar with the last kick of the game.
Knowle play Lye Town in the next round on Sunday, October 23
