FOOTBALL - Knowle held to goalless draw by struggling Boldmere

Solihull Editorial 5th Apr, 2022   0

KNOWLE FC were held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons with their hopes of a top-two finish all but over.

The Robins were unable to score the all-important goal and are now relying on Coventry Alvis to beat Coton Green on the final day to have any chance of finishing second.

Knowle are now three points behind Coton Green with one game left to play.

A tense affair ensued at Boldmere Road with the home side restricting Knowle to several hopeful long balls that were often overhit whilst looking dangerous on the counter attack.

There were just four shots on target all match, with Knowle having all of them to no avail as the Robins lacked their usual fluidity that has seen them win 16 of their league games this season.

Knowle finish the season with a trip to Barnt Green Spartak on Saturday, April 9 with kick-off at 3pm at The Pavilions.
