Dover clash brought forward in Moors fixture shake-up

Solihull Editorial 19th Jan, 2021   0

A SHAKE-UP of Solihull Moors’ fixture list means the future outlook for Jimmy Shan’s men in the coming weeks appears very different – after the dust has settled on tonight’s Aldershot Town FA Trophy clash.

With this Saturday’s original scheduled opponents – Yeovil Town – reporting a positive COVID-19 test, Moors’ visit to Huish Park will now have to wait another day after the match was immediately postponed.

The fixture is to be rescheduled at a later date.

But instead of another weekend with no action, an occurrence which has unfortunately been the case on more than one occasion for Solihull due to the effect of coronavirus on both the Moors camp and other sides in the National League, a trip to Dover Athletic will now take place instead in a 3pm kick-off.

With both sides originally set to have no game this weekend, a case was put forward to the National League which approved bringing forward the encounter – which was due to be played on February 2.

In other news, a new date for the postponed away game at table-topping Torquay United has also been announced.

Moors’ jaunt down to Devon will take place on Tuesday, March 23 at Plainmoor, a fixture which could bear real importance for the campaigns of both sides by that time.
