Double success for Blossomfield Tennis Club

Solihull Editorial 8th Sep, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016

BLOSSOMFIELD Tennis Club is celebrating a double success for its young players at the recent county competitions.

The club’s Under-16 Girls were crowned winners of the Aegon Team Tennis Warwickshire Division.

Lead by Captain Rhianna Robertson, the team won all of their matches and conceded just one rubber during their league campaign.

The performance was particularly impressive as three squad members, Rhianna Robertson, Amelia Reeve and Clara Stride, were all eligible to play in the Under-14 age group.

The girls will now be preparing for next season where they will be looking to defend their title.

Elsewhere, Blossomfield’s Under-14 Boys clinched the Aegon Team Tennis Warwickshire Division One title after a thrilling finale which saw a tie-break shoot out against Solihull Arden.

The team of Logan Robertson, Rory Hull, Cameron Mowat, Tom Basterfield and Tommy Fowler won all their matches over the summer period to win the league.

Blossomfield Club is always pleased to welcome new players to its junior section whether for non-competitive tennis or team tennis.
