Deen Ahmed and Elizabeth Aston lead the way for Solihull team

Solihull Swimming Club had 7 swimmers take part in the recent West Midlands Championships. Outstanding swimmers were Deen Ahmed and Elizabeth Aston.

Deen Ahmed aged 12 qualified and took part in the most events, in his 8 events, he achieved finals in all but one. He competed in the 50,100 and 200 Back events taking part in the 50 and 100 Back finals coming 6th in both. In Front Crawl he dominated taking Gold Medals in 200, 400 and 1500. In the 50m Free final he took Silver and took the bronze in the 100m Free Final. Deen was also crowned best boy in 11/12 category and received a cheque for £50 for his achievements. Deen has just also accepted a place in the Junior Elite squad at City of Birmingham.

Elizabeth Aston aged 13, qualified for 3 events, taking part in all three Breast stroke events, she swam brilliantly and made finals in every single one of her events. Taking 6th in the 200m and 5th in the 100m Final, she swam superbly in the 50m final to take the Bronze medal. Elizabeth does all her training with the senior Squad at Solihull under Head Coach Dean Barguss and has had an exceptional season.
