KNOWLE and Dorridge Cricket Club have announced the stunning signing of West Indian superstar Carlos Brathwaite as their overseas player for the 2022 season.
Brathwaite wrote his name into the history books after hitting four successive sixes to clinch in the last over of the 2016 World T20 final against England.
The 33-year-old is currently T20 captain of the Birmingham Bears and has also represented the Sydney Sixes in the Big Bash and Delhi Daredevils in the IPL.
He has represented the West Indies on 89 occasions and is a powerhouse of the modern game.
First team captain Jack Grundy said: “It’s amazing news and will no doubt bring a massive buzz to all four teams, the junior section and our social members.
“I’m really excited to see how he gets on and the impact he has on the changing room.
“I just hope our players can make the most of the massive opportunity this provides.”
Knowle and Dorridge play their first league game against Leamington CC on Saturday, April 16 with the action set to start at 12pm (midday) at Station Road.
