Community support from Jack's a real lift for Chelmsley Colts

Solihull Editorial 16th Nov, 2020   0

NEW kits bearing the logo of sponsor Jack’s have been donated to Chelmsley Colts’ under-eight and under-11’s sides.

The Timbersley Lane store in Castle Bromwich will sponsor the Colts throughout the current campaign, as part of the chain’s community efforts.

Chelmsley manager Craig Blaxland says the support has not gone unnoticed during a time when grassroots and youth football have been adversely affected by lockdown and COVID-19 restrictions.

“In uncertain times Chelmsley Colts’ key strategies are to keep our children and adults both mentally and physically healthy, so the support from Jack’s has been key as we have been able to kit out our Under 8 and 11 teams,” he said.

“The support from someone so integrated within the local community is appreciated and puts smiles on so many faces.”

And for Jack’s – a subsidiary of Tesco – the plan is to continue supporting local teams and sporting ventures.

Castle Bromwich store manager Ryan Bird added: “We’re committed to developing our relationship with the local community throughout 2020 by supporting more initiatives, sponsoring football teams is just one of the many ways we’ve been helping the community of Solihull.”

Community groups and organisations have been urged by Jack’s to apply for grants through the following link: www.jacks-uk.com/jacks-supports
