RUGBY UNION: BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees recorded their biggest win of the season when crushing Old Halesonians 0-100.

The win maintains Bees’ unbeaten run this season while ensuring they remain top of the Midlands Premier Division.

Old Hales’ cause wasn’t helped when winger Steve Jordan was red carded on 12 minutes after he took out Ashley Scriven in the air.

By that stage, Bees already led 0-12 with tries from Tawanda Chipadza and Zane Raimondi helping the visitors’ cause.

A further three tries were added, another for Raimondi and one each for Danny Wright and Nathan Tilsey, while Jolly added the points from the tee to put Bees 0-33 up at half time.

Jack Secher came on for Jolly while Matt Probert replaced Kurtis Payne and Reece Donaldson switched for Ashley Scriven at half time as a new Bees side took to the field.

The Portway men turned the heat up with a further eleven second-half tries – six of them in a sublime 16-minute spell – to underline the gulf in class between the two sides.

Raimondi got his hat trick while Chipadza added to his first half tally with scores also coming from Mike Stephens, two from Max Rodman and Matt Spink respectively.

Jack Secher also got in on the act while JT Nabetelevu, Steve Johns and – right at the death – Kurtis Payne touched down.

Rodman, having taken over the kicking duties from the subsititued Jolly, slotted seven second half conversions.

The game continued Old Hales’ awful run of form, which has seen them concede 300 points in their last three games without scoring.

Bees are next in action against Peterborough Lions at home at Portway on Saturday, December 2, at 2.15pm.
