BIRMINGHAM City defender Geraldo Bajrami has put pen-to-paper on a loan deal with Solihull Moors until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old becomes Jimmy Shan’s first signing as manager, and arrives after a breakthrough campaign with Blues where he has made three appearances across the Championship and EFL Cup.

Speaking on the move to the SportNation.bet Stadium, where he will wear the number 16 shirt, Bajrami says he hopes both himself and the Moors can benefit from the move.

“I’m happy to be here, I’m a local boy and I just want to help the team as much as possible,” said the Albanian under-21 international.

“The club came so close last year so we’re aiming to go one step better this season.

“It’s my first time going out on loan, so I’ll try and make the most of it.”

Shan felt the addition was a necessary one, given recent injuries, adding: “I am delighted that we have secured the services of Geraldo. He is a competitive defender and an excellent ball manager.

“After suffering a few injuries in our defensive unit it was essential we made an addition. He has of course got Championship game time under his belt this season, and I am sure he will add strength and quality to our team.”

Birmingham are confirmed to have a recall option on the defender after the first four weeks of the deal have elapsed.
