TABLE-TOPPING Moor Green Academy go marching on after a 4-1 triumph over Coton Green.
Monday night’s 4-1 victory extended the Academy’s unbeaten run to ten games in all competitions, with the latest result putting them six points clear at the top of Midland League Division Two.
It took just five minutes for the opening goal to arrive, courtesy of Costelus Lautaru’s determination to stab the ball home in the midst of a goalmouth scramble.
Arman Khooshkoo doubled the lead soon after, before turning provider to lay the ball on for Lautaru to tap home his second following Kobe Chong’s incisive through-ball.
Moor Green almost made it four on the 20 minute mark when Gerrard Sam missed from a prime shooting position, whilst Cameron Ebbutt flashed a header wide of the mark.
But the hosts did get their fourth before half-time, when Ebbutt had the simple task of tapping home from Lautaru’s cut back.
The visitors were the side in the ascendancy after the restart despite the four-goal deficit that faced them, deservedly notching on the scoreboard on the hour mark to finish the scoring.
Moor Green host Bolehall Swifts on Saturday (3pm).
