A YARDLEY pupil has finished secondary school with 100 per cent attendance.

James McTiernan, who has just finished his GCSE exams, did not miss a day at Cockshut Hill School.

He previously attended Yardley Primary School, where he also had full attendance from Year 3 onwards.

James attended the school prom to celebrate his achievement, which was held at the Village Hotel in Shirley.

James will start his A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in September and hopes to practice medicine in the future.

He has studied triple science, Mathematics, English Language and Literature, sports science, French, geography and RE at GCSE and took part in a medical work experience programme online called medic mentor that ran for full days every third Saturday of the month for six months.

Jason Bridges, principal at Cockshut Hill School said: “I want to say a massive congratulations to James for not missing a single day of secondary school.

“By attending school every day he has given himself the best opportunity of achieving exceptional grades in his examinations and we look forward to his results in August.

“I wish James all the best for the future, and I hope he thoroughly enjoyed our prom.”
