A WOMAN had to be cut from a car after a two vehicle smash in Shirley.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Green Lane and Haslucks Green Road around 3.30pm on Monday afternoon (December 29).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival ambulance staff found a woman – estimated to be in her 50s – in a Renault Clio who was complaining of severe neck pain.

“Due to her condition, ambulance staff worked with firefighters to remove her from the wreckage. She was immobilised before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further assessment.”
