A WOMAN had to be cut free and immobilised after the car she was driving collided with another in Knowle.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Warwick Road and Jacobean Lane in Knowle, Solihull shortly before 8.55am today. Warwick Road was blocked by the collision.

Two rapid response vehicles, driven by an advanced community paramedic and a paramedic area support officer attended along with an ambulance crew.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Both cars were damaged but only one of the drivers needed treatment.

“She had neck and back pain and was therefore cut free from her car with the help of the fire service.

“Ambulance crews immobilised her with the use of a spinal board and neck collar and took her to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. It was all as a precaution.

“A man who was driving the other car was discharged at the scene.”
