Views sought on development in Chadwick End

Solihull Editorial 16th Jun, 2022   0

CHADWICK End residents are being called on to have their say on plans to build a self-build housing development in the village.

Tyler Parkes Planning Consultants is looking to create either a four or five self-build plots on land near Warwick Road and Netherwood Lane.

According to the government website a self build home is where individuals are involved in building or managing the construction of their home from beginning to end, to projects where individuals commission their home, making key design and layout decisions, but the home is built ready for occupation.

In a document handed to residents Tyler Parkes said: “We are also using this opportunity to encourage aspiring self-builders to come forward so we can help them to be the first people with a chance to buy a plot, subject to planning permission.

“Enabling self-build and custom build as an important component of the supply of housing are high priorities for Government.

“While the proposals would represent an incursion into green belt we believe they could be located and designed to ensure there is no adverse impact on the strategic objectives of green belt and mitigate any impacts on the landscape.”
