VOTERS across the West Midlands will be heading to the polls tomorrow to vote for who they want to be the region’s mayor.

Among them will be people from Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and the Black Country, including Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich and Dudley.

Ahead of polling day we put the same seven questions to Conservative Andy Street and Labour’s Liam Byrne, asking about all the important issues – from unemployment, job creation and young people to public transport and housing.

We also asked them about the first thing they planned to do if elected and – looking on the light side – if they had an important guest to entertain which three places would they take them to showcase the best the West Midlands has to offer.

The pair will also be up against Liberal Democrat Jenny Wilkinson, Green Party candidate Steve Caudwell and Reform UK’s Pete Durnell.

Watch the video (above) and click the names below to read the candidates’ manifestos.

Andy Street (Conservative)

Liam Byrne (Labour)

Jenny Wilkinson (Liberal Democrat)

Steve Caudwell (Green Party)

Pete Durnell (Reform UK)
