Solihull Editorial 13th Aug, 2021   0

THERE were smiles all round when Troop Aid was handed a generous donation.

Phil Hughes, the vice president of the Meriden Rotary Club handed £500 over during a surprise visit to the Shirley-based charity which helps injured troops.

Since the charity started in 2006 Troop Aid has helped injured military personnel who are admitted to hospital without their personal belongings.

The charity supplies the troops with the ‘basic essentials’ in a grab bag which includes clothing, washing and shaving kit, towel, face flannel, toothpaste, toothbrush, shower mules, socks and underwear.
