Tributes to mum who died at Sheldon Country Park funfair

TRIBUTES have been flooding in for a mother who collapsed and died after suffering a cardiac arrest at Robert Wilkinson’s family funfair in Sheldon Country Park at the weekend.

The woman, whose details have not been revealed but is believed to be in her 30s, was enjoying the fair with her family and children when the tragedy unfolded just before 5pm on Sunday (September 20).

First aiders at the fair gave emergency treatment to the woman, before paramedic arrived at the scene to continue the fight to save her life.

She was rushed to Heartlands Hospital but despite the best efforts of everyone, she sadly died.




Owner of the funfair, Robert Wilkinson, announced the tragedy on the event’s website.

He said: To my friends and customers I have some very sad news.


“A young lady had a massive seizure of some kind whilst enjoying our fair. Our first aiders and then West Midland Ambulance Services tried their very hardest to revive her, but sadly we lost her.

“We send our deepest sympathy to her family and children. It’s such a shock to every one here.”

Mark Jastrzebski added: “Deep sympathy to the young lady’s family .

“I am so proud of my team who tried their very best to revive this lady. They kept her alive until they were took over by the West Midlands Ambulance (Service) and sadly lost her fight to survive

“If theres anything in which the Bigtop Nwroadshow can do for this family please dont hesitate to contact us.”

Another online tribute read: “Heaven has gained an angel.

“My condolences go out to her family and friends.

“Also a big well done to all the first aiders and the paramedics that tried their best even tho the result wasn’t what we would of hoped for.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that it sent an ambulance, a community paramedic in a rapid response car and a paramedic area support officer to the scene at 4.52pm.

He added: “We were called to reports of a woman in cardiac arrest at the park. On arrival crews performed CPR and the patient, a woman in her 30s, was transferred to Heartlands Hospital.”

West Midlands Police confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
