ADULT social care workers in Solihull are being thanked as part of the first Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection on March 17.
The day was set by national charities including Skills for Care, and is an opportunity to say thank you to everyone who works in adult social care.
In Solihull a thank you wall has been set up in The Core and in Chelmsley Wood library for residents to leave a message which will be shared with care providers and on Solihull Council’s website.
The day honours those who work in care homes or provide care in people’s own homes, personal assistants, people who work in housing with care (also known as extra care) as well as social workers, occupational therapists and day opportunities staff.
Councillor Tony Dicicco, cabinet member for adult social care and health, said the council will also write to thank each care provider individually and we are encouraging primary schools to make a thank you poster for their local care home or care agency and deliver it to them.
