A SOLIHULL mum has won a top award for her businesses she launched during the height of the Covid pandemic.

Claire Ferreira was crowned winner of the Global Award at The Start-up Awards National Series, Midlands UK for her Mums in Marketing (MiMs) businesses.

Her company bring together mums from across the globe who also have careers in the marketing industry.

Claire launched MiMs in April 2020 on Facebook and in spite of a global pandemic it grew to a community of thousands.

She wanted Mims to be a place where mums within the marketing business could come together for training, networking, workshops and masterclasses as well as forming professional relationships and friendships.

Claire said: “Winning such an accolade so early on in our journey is incredible. This award is for each and every one of our community.

“These past two years have been a bonkers mix of crying in total awe for the incredible community and what they achieve every day, total exhaustion and massive surges of energy and focus to make MiMs happen.

“Seeing the incredible responses from thousands of amazing women joining our Facebook community, to support each other and create change together, has been sensational.

“The brands and organisations we are working with is phenomenal and this is just the start.”

The StartUp Awards National Series has been rolled out in nine UK regions, supported by BT, Clearco, Moblox, Fearless Adventures and with regional support from Moja Group.

Creator of the awards Professor Dylan Jones-Evans said : “A huge congratulations to Claire, given she started her business in the same month that the economy was shutting down due to COVID-19, this is an incredible achievement that she should be very proud of.

“Claire and many of the businesses showcased are going to have a significant impact on their sector and I hope that many other entrepreneurs will follow in their footsteps over the next few years.”
