Solihull couples invited to Valentine's open day

SOLIHULL couples with the thought of marriage on the horizon are being invited to attend Hall Green’s Church of Ascension open day on Saturday (February 13).

Coinciding with Valentine’s weekend, the open day will offer advice and information about future dates, music choice and the chance to meet the team behind proceedings.

Set in a picturesque area, the church was built in the 18th century amongst a tree shaded church yard.

The open day starts at 10.30am and runs until 4pm.

Vicar Paul Leckey told the Solihull Observer that he’s witnessed a gradual pick up in traditional wedding services at the church in recent months.

He added: “There’s going to be plenty of people about to discuss, plan and chat about your perfect day.

“Fizzy wine and refreshments are available to those who come and visit – it should be a great occasion.

“We see a wide range of people turn out to our open days which we are running on an increased rate of late.

“It’s always nice to see those who tied the knot at our church before and lovely to meet new people.

“People think it’s difficult both financially and physically to arrange a church wedding but it’s not as hard as you’d think.

“Whether you’re looking for something traditional or personal, we’d love to meet with the local people.”
