A HARDWORKING apprentice has been named Apprentice of the Year for his hard work and dedication.
Will Briscoe, 21, joined the Dodd Group as a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) apprentice in September 2012.
After completing his apprenticeship six months early, Will proved himself to be a real asset to the company – and was nominated for the award.
Since picking up his toolbox, he has excelled in all aspects of the job – including technical and written-based assessments – and has shown he has an eye for detail.
His determination, positive attitude and hard work has paid off and, as a result, has received the prestigious award.
Operations Director, Alan Wakeman said: “I have always been astounded by Williams’s progress throughout his apprenticeship and I would even go as far as to say that I’ve not seen such a fast learning, pro-active individual in my trade for many years.
“Through his hard work and great personality he has become a very important member of the SMBC partnership team, and all of the engineers enjoy working with him.”
Solihull Mayor, Mike Robinson, said it was a pleasure to grant the hard-working apprentice with his award at Solihull Council’s Civic Suite.
He added: “It is a delight to present this award to Will and it is great to have been able to celebrate his success with him.
“With his fantastic work ethic and the progress he has shown there is no doubt that Will is an incredibly deserving winner.”
Will is currently working for Solihull Partnership as a HVAC Engineer while studying for his HNC qualification.
Determined to push himself even further, Will plans to make big strides in the building sector and hopes to establish himself as a mechanical design engineer in the near future.
