Sixth award this year for Solihull hotel

A LUXURY hotel has proved its expertise in business as well as hospitality after picking up its sixth award of the year.

Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant, based in Four Ashes Road, Dorridge, received the Best Use of Innovation title at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce annual awards.

A certificate and award commemorating the achievement were presented to the company’s group regional manager, Steven Quick.

The prestigious award is given to a business in the local area which has used innovation or technology in the past two years to enhance an aspect of its business performance.

Hogarths was recognised for its extensive growth since opening as a bed and breakfast 11 years ago.

The hotel offers a wide range of services and packages – including weddings, outside events, a private island and conference space.

Steven said despite the building originally brought as a family home, it soon became apparent that it could be run as a small hotel.

He added: “Over the past 11 years the hotel’s owners, Helena and Andy Hogarth, have worked hard to turn it into a thriving business which now employs more than 140 staff.

“As a result of this success the Hogarths brand has started to grow and expand, with the acquisition of our Stone Manor Hotel which is a fantastic and fitting addition to the group.”

The win comes on the back of a string of national awards that the hotel has won over the last few months, including the highly coveted AA Four Silver Stars award.

Steven said: “The team is now hoping for another award win after being named as a finalist in this year’s Midlands Family Business Awards, which will be held on November 12.

“The Best Use of Innovation Award is now our sixth accolade in less than a year which is really exciting and highlights the dedication and commitment of the team to developing Hogarths.”
