CHIRTSMAS is going to be a bit different this year – and that’s certainly been captured in a Shirley hairdressers window.
The festive scene at David’s Salon captures 2020 and pays homage to the NHS.
Owner Michelle Poole and her parents Diane and David Poole wanted to say Thank You to the NHS and frontline workers in their annual Christmas display.
The team at the salon in Colebrook Road have made a snowman from toilet roll, hung rainbows and have a mannequin in full personal protective equipment holding the sought-after vaccine.
Michelle said: “I think it would be a nice opportunity for the people who do not go past our little hairdressers to see the community spirit in and about Shirley at this difficult time.
“It’s fantastic to watch the kids faces on their way to school. And our ladies love to see what each year brings.”
The salon, which has been running for 45 years, has dressed the main window since Michelle and her siblings were children and her parents owned the business.
Over the years they have created a wealth of magical sights including a polar scene, Father Christmas’ workshop and The Nutcracker ballet.
