Shirley carnival to wow crowds this weekend

Sarah Mason 8th Jul, 2015 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016

EVERYTHING is now ship shape and ready for this year’s Shirley Carnival this weekend.

Local dancers and musical groups will be performing at Shirley Park on Saturday (July 11) at this year’s pirate-themed carnival.

This year the Carnival will have a piratical theme with lookalike Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean opening the event.

Children are encouraged to come along in pirate themed fancy dress to meet Captain Jack and enter the Fancy Dress competition which he will be judging.

Gates open at 11.30 am with the programme of events commencing at noon.

Admission prices are held once again at £1 for everyone.
