Riot of colour promised as Holi Festival comes to The Core

A SPLASH of colour is set to be added to The Core as Holi Festival celebrations get underway.

This Saturday, March 19, there will be lots of activities for families to have a go at while finding out a little more about the Hindu Festival of Colour.

It runs from 10am until 4pm and there will be free and paid for activities including a ‘Splat Art’ workshop, mini kaleidoscope making and a giant colour weave hosted by Solihull’s very own award-winning Art at the Heart CIC.

“It’s going to be a joyous event, a celebration, and I think we really need something at the moment with all the misery there is in the world,” said Kamaljit Suman from Art in the Heart.

“It’s aimed at families and will be an opportunity to really throw some colour around.”

Children between the ages of five and 18 can also enter the Holi Colour Creation Competition for the chance to win arty prizes including a £300 drawing workshop (provided by Art at the Heart CIC) if a winning entry is submitted via a school or organisation.

The paid for activities need to be pre-booked through www.thecoretheatresolihull.co.uk or www.artattheheartcic.org
