RESIDENTS in Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath are being called on to have their say in the Neighbourhood Plan.

A referendum is being held , on March 14 by the Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath Neighbourhood Forum, which has been working on the plan to develop the area for the next 15 years.

Organisers say: “If the residents of KDBH Vote Yes on Thursday 14 March 2019 the plan will be adopted and will influence all development in KDBH Neighbourhood area for the next 15 years.”

The Neighbourhood Plan would also be taken into consideration by Solihull planning chiefs when deciding if future applications should be given the green light in the area alongside national policy and the Council’s own Local Plan.

After almost three years of continual hard work by the Forum, Solihull Council has approved the contents of the Neighbourhood Plan and has arranged for the vote to take place.

Residents will be asked: “Do you want Solihull Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Jane Aykroyd, chairman of the Knowle Dorridge and Bentley Heath Neighbourhood Forum, said: “The hard work and dedication of members of the team has brought us to this final stage.

“The plan is a tribute to the generosity of those local people who gave willingly of their time and expertise.

“It is thanks to them that we have a plan that reflects the community’s aspirations for their villages.”
