'Proud to Be' SCH highlights support for Black History Month

Solihull Editorial 23rd Oct, 2021   0

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) has been supporting Black History Month this October.

The theme for this year is ‘Proud to Be’ and SCH has been promoting this message to customers and staff throughout October.

Black History Month aims to encourage people of different ethnicities to share what they are proud about, such as their culture, heritage and community contributions.

SCH is highlighting and celebrating this as well as sharing contributions of black communities to the success of society.

It’s also sharing historical events and celebrating iconic key figures who have helped to shape black history on their social media platforms.

Chief Executive Fiona Hughes said: “As an organisation we are extremely proud to show our support to such an influential global campaign each year.

“We are committed to ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion is reflected in everything we do with our customers and our staff.

“Black History Month is a time for everyone to come together globally and celebrate the history, achievements and contributions of the black community, not just now but all year round.”
