PROMISING 15-year-old footballer Mason Silver will be taking part in the Queens Baton Relay at North Solihull Sports Centre on July 26.
Mason’s school, Smith’s Wood Academy, nominated him for his outstanding contribution to sports.
Mason plays football for his school and two teams on weekends and
dedicates his time to supporting and leading coaching sessions for his clubs’ junior teams and younger year groups.
Mason has been described by his school as a kind-hearted young man, having helped with fundraising for charities as well as his football club.
Mason has represented his school in basketball badminton and swimming among others and wants to be a professional footballer and sports therapist.
Mason’s leg of the relay will be part of a big community event at North Solihull Sports Centre, which will start at 10am and will include lots of family fun including sports and demonstrations.
