Plea to help fundraising in memory of tragic mother Lianne Harris

AN EMOTIONAL appeal has been made for raffle prizes, toys and donations for a fundraising day in memory of tragic Lianne Harris who died after suffering a cardiac while on the Twister ride with her two young daughters at Robert Wilkinson’s funfair in Sheldon Country Park on Sunday, September 20.

At the time of her death much-loved mother-of-two Lianne was finalising details for her eldest daughter Olivia’s ninth birthday next year – and just two days before the funfair tragedy unfolded had met with party planner Katie Meager to book her very best package.

Katie, who also knew Lianne and her daughters – 4-year-old Crystal and 8-year-old Olivia, through various meetings at Langley Social Club, where Lianne’s funeral wake was also held, has already promised to give Olivia the very best birthday party next year at no cost.

But she is also planning a big free party for both the girls on December 6 and is appealing for Observer readers to get in touch if they can help provide any toys, raffle prizes and donations to help make the day as amazing – and profitable for the family – as possible.

Katie, who runs Ruby Slippers Pamper Parties, is offering the girls and their friends the party for free.

But wants it to be as amazing as possible for them.

“Lianne was an amazing woman and her beautiful children deserve the very best we can give them so I hope lots of people will donate to the cause,” said Katie.

“Any money we raise will be added to the online fundraising page – crowdfunding.justgiving.com/lianneharrisappeal

– set up to raise as much money to provide for the girls and which also helped pay for Lianne’s funeral.”

The appeal has so far raised around £3,000 for the family.

If you would like to offer a prize or contribute to the December 6 party e-mail Katie at: [email protected] or get in touch via the Ruby Slippers Facebook page.
