Solihull Editorial 23rd Mar, 2022   0

SOLIHULL police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was allegedly attacked with a metal weapon in Chelmsley Wood.

Police are investigating after the girl was assaulted by someone she knew at a bus stop near KFC on Chelmsley Circle on February 3 at about 2.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: “She was helped by a woman who was getting off a bus and the youngster thankfully didn’t suffer serious injuries.

“But such violence is shocking and will not be tolerated.

“We’re working to establish exactly what happened and a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault.

“Following questioning he was released on bail as those enquiries continue.”

Police are also appealing for the woman who helped or any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

They can contact police online at www.west-midlands.police.uk or by calling 101 and quoting investigation 20/150453/22.

Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
