New petition set up to stop Hampton In Arden M42 service station

Solihull Editorial 19th Nov, 2021   0

A PETITION has been launched to stop a motorway service station from being built at Hampton in Arden on the M42.

This comes after the developers, Extra MSA Group, appealed Solihull Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for the Motorway Service Area (MSA) earlier this year at a special meeting.

At the same meeting the Council’s planning committee also refused plans for a MSA to be built near junction 4 of the motorway near Shirley by Applegreen ltd.

The petition was set up by Hampton in Arden Parish Council and is calling on the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, refuse planning permission.

An appeal inquiry is currently underway at Solihull Council which is being overseen by Michael Bonniface, from the planning inspectorate.
