Hall Green Choral Society ready to perform first concert since Covid-19 hit

Solihull Editorial 21st Sep, 2021   0

MEMBERS of the Hall Green Choral Society will have their voices fine-tuned as they prepare for this weekend’s late summer concert.

On Saturday (September 25) the choir will take to the stage at the Church of the Ascension on School Road in Hall Green for the first time since the pandemic hit.

The return concert includes Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, a traditional Irish Blessing set by Bob Chilcott to music and Karl Jenkins’ Elegia.

The late summer concert will also feature John Rutter’s Look to the Day, a piece commissioned by Cancer Research UK and The Earthly Rose by the Latvian composer Eriks Esenwalds.

Clive Jones will be conducting with Darren Hogg accompanying.

In late July the choir was able to start in person rehearsals, having rehearsed on Zoom prior to that from September 2020.

Programme tickets cost £7 and will be available on the door.

Audience numbers are limited due to Covid restrictions but seats can be reserved in advance by calling 0121 705 6496.
