GREAT BRITISH bake off finalist Andrew Smyth joined employees at Npower in Solihull for their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Andrew baked an exclusive showstopper; a wind turbine cake and npower employees also dusted off their aprons and baked their own cakes to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Andrew said: “Baking is a brilliant way to raise money for such an important cause like Macmillan – it’s lots of fun and is the perfect opportunity to get friends and family together.”

“Cancer has a huge impact on the lives of so many people and it’s vital that Macmillan can continue to provide crucial support. I’m very proud to be a part of this through my passion for baking.”

Andrew served cakes and talked all things baking while helping raise funds for Npower’s charity partner of 13 years

Beth Gardner, head of community at npower, said, “Our employees really rose to the occasion this year, and we’ve seen a whole range of delicious bakes (and fakes!).

“It’s been brilliant to have Andrew working alongside us and we hope his cake recipe inspires others -we really can change lives with every slice of cake.”

Over their 13 year partnership, npower has contributed £10.5million to help 34,000 families affected by cancer. npower supports Macmillan’s Energy Advice Team who offer guidance and help source funding for people living with cancer who are struggling to keep warm, regardless of who supplies their energy.

Npower also help customers through npower’s Macmillan Fund, which supports people living with cancer by capping energy bills and writing off debt.
