FITNESS fanatics and charitable Silhillians are being called to put their running shoes on for the seventh Balsall Common Fun Run.

After being forced to cancel last year’s event due to the pandemic fun run organisers, The Lily Mae Foundation, is once again calling for all to for join them on Sunday, September 19.

The foundation was set up by Balsall Common couple Ryan and Amy Jackson following the death of their daughter Lily Mae who was stillborn.

It supports parents and families who have lost a baby to stillbirth or to neonatal death.

The 5km and 10km adults race begins at noon at the Heart of England School and the mini race for primary school aged children begins at 11am.

Ryan Jackson, founder of The Lily Mae Foundation, said: “After the pandemic wiping out many events in 2020, we are so pleased to see the Fun Run make a return this year.

“It will be a great day for family and friends to finally get together and have something to look forward to.

“With the pandemic having had a profound effect on many people’s mental health, focusing on exercise and having a target to aim towards is so important.

“We really look forward to seeing everybody in September.”

There will also be food, drink and children’s activity stalls on offer.
