A TEAM of 32 from Eversfield Preparatory School in Solihull has taken up the Race For Life challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Staff at the school were motivated to sign up for the race when a colleague was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Such was the strength of feeling that the team grew and grew until it included 24 members of staff, five of whom were joined by their daughters along with other members of the school community, both past and present.
Members of the team included the colleague whose diagnosis had spurred the desire to raise funds for cancer research, as well as several others who had received treatment for cancer themselves.
Hannah Phillips, Deputy Head, said: “I am amazed by the number of people who joined us on Sunday despite it being one of the hottest days of the year.
“We are delighted to have raised over £7000 for Cancer Research UK.”
