Easter Fun Run back for Headway Solihull and Birmingham

Solihull Editorial 24th Feb, 2022   0

AFTER being forced to go virtual for the past two years due to Covid the annual Easter Fun Run for a brain injury charity is back in the park.

Headway Birmingham and Solihull will be getting runners under way for the 2022 Easter Fun Run around Cofton Park in Longbridge on April 10 from 11am.

The 5km route goes around the surrounding fields and woodland trails.

Easter-themed fancy dress is optional and there will be prizes awarded for the best costume as well as for the first male and female entrants to cross the line.

Refreshments and other fun activities will also be on offer on the morning of the fun run, with all proceeds going towards Headway’s local brain injury services.

Entry for this family-friendly fun run has been held at just £12 for adults and £8 for under 12s, with all finishers receiving a full-size chocolate Easter egg and a Easter-themed medal, sponsored by Frenkel Topping.

Restrictions around Covid meant the 2020 fun run was cancelled just a few weeks before it was due to take place and then held as a virtual event instead, while the 2021 event was replaced with a virtual egg and spoon race.

Julie Wedgbury, communications and fundraising manager at Headway, said: “The Easter Fun Run is a feel-good event and one of the charity’s key fundraising activities, and so we’re really pleased it can go ahead this year.

“It was a sell-out last time it was held, and so we’d urge people to sign up without delay to be sure of their place.”
