A BRAND new Walkabout bar is set to provide the perfect social setting in Solihull when it opens in October.

The move, which has created 20 permanent new jobs for the local area, will see the venue open on Thursday (October 1) following a £485,000 spend.

The bar, which has been designed as a ‘new style’ Walkabout, will benefit from a VIP area and pre-bookable booths.

Impressive new ‘reef bars’, where giant linked screens show footage of a coral reef, have also been installed and give the impression of being in an underwater world.

There will also be a state of the art sound and lighting system, affirming Walkabout’s reputation as the ultimate party venue to local residents.

It will also be possible to pre-book front row seats for all major televised live sports events.

The games will be shown on giant projection screens and multiple HD TVs making Walkabout the only place in town to watch live sport.

The new venue is located in the former ‘Après’ site on Poplar Road.

Walkabout’s new food and drinks menu will also be on offer, with a delicious selection of light bites and main meals to accompany wines, beers and mouth-watering cocktails.

The layout of the bar means that – in addition to hosting awesome party nights – Walkabout will be the perfect place for an impromptu coffee, relaxing lunch or a chilled out afternoon on your own or with friends.

The bar will celebrate its opening in style with an exclusive V.I.P opening party on Thursday 1st October, showcasing the best local DJs, live entertainment, champagne and canapés from the new menu.

Sam Heathcote, General Manager, said: “Walkabout is famous for legendary party nights, fun, live music, sport and great food, and now locals will have this at their fingertips.

She continued: “We’re already taking bookings for our opening night and can’t wait for our customers to see the new venue for themselves.”
