Appeal launched after sexual assaults in Acocks Green

Solihull Editorial 18th Feb, 2019   0

AN APPEAL has been launched following sexual assaults on women in Acocks Green.

Birmingham Police said on Facebook the incidents took place on Shirley Road and Fox Hollies Road on February 12 and 13 and saw women being approached by an offender who touched them inappropriately over their clothing.

Sergeant Darren Brown from Acocks Green Neighbourhood Team said: “We have increased our patrols in the area and we are currently examining CCTV.

“We are aware of three incidents but we are not ruling out the possibility that the offender may have committed further offences which have not been reported to us.

“I’d appeal for anyone who was in Shirley Road or Fox Hollies Road and saw a man acting suspiciously – or who has video footage that could assist our enquiries – to contact us straight away.

“I’d also ask any women who believe they may also have been approached by the suspect, but have not alerted police, to also get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact the Acocks Green team directly on [email protected] call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
